Deadline for sponsors, vendors, food trucks: September 1, 2025, noon.

This page was last updated August 6, 2025.

ABOUT US: Operation Duck Drop is a grassroots initiative dedicated to supporting local non-profits that need the resources and support to fulfil their impactful missions. We prioritize organizations with modest budgets and who are reliant on volunteers, aiming to empower smaller groups to achieve remarkable results. Prospective recipients undergo a thorough vetting process, outlining their mission, objectives, and aspirations for fund utilization. The selected beneficiary also contributes to our event by volunteering alongside our Board of Directors during the Duck Drop. Our objective is to amplify annual fundraising efforts and extend assistance to numerous community entities.

This year's Duck Drop will be from a helicopter into Okanagan Lake on September 14th. You don't want to miss it!

2025 Info:

Sunday, September 14th, 12pm.

Rotary Park / Okanagan Lake

Viewing area: Behind the Peach

Included: Duck Drop via helicopter, vendor market, live music, food trucks!

How it works:

Tickets (ducks) are available for purchase through our online platform only. Your online ticket represents your duck in the race. Ducks are physically numbered 1-2000. Each online ticket purchased will be matched to a duck according to the number of purchase.

For example, if you are the 11th person to buy a ticket, you will have duck #11.

INDIVIDUAL DUCK NUMBERS WILL NOT BE SENT TO PURCHASERS. Online ticket numbers do not necessarily reflect the numbers written on the ducks. If you wish to know your duck number, you can email us at duckdroppen@gmail.com and one of our volunteers will get back to you. Alternatively, you can come find our volunteers at the event and we will have a printed list of all the ducks! In the past, we have found it easiest to just wait to hear who won. We will contact all winners.

Prizing:

Our ducks will be dropped from a Top Flight helicopter onto a large tarp. In the center of the tarp will be an inflatable ducky floaty tube.

Closest to the middle: $1000

Furthest from the middle: $100

Randomly selected duck: $500

Rules:

  • If more than one land in the center, two people need to be present to select 1 winner.

  • If more than 1 misses the target, they are collected and two people randomly select the winner for furthest. If none miss the target, we revert to random draw of all ducks.

  • If after 30 days, we have determined a winner is uncontactable (phone invalid, email not responsive, no one has come forward,) the prize is forfeited and donated to the charity.

  • Winner does not have to be present at the time of the duck drop.

  • Winner must be a resident of British Columbia.

  • Winner must be age of majority in British Columbia at time of purchase.
